8 ways to love yourself
Chomas, we are all not supermodels or beauty queens and why should we have to be? Be beautiful in your own way and start loving yourself, flaws and all.
Here are 8 ways to love yourself:
- Stop wishing you were someone else
You are uniquely you, with your very own set of strengths and weaknesses. So maybe you are not as thin as your choma, but you sure are funny and everyone enjoys your keen sense of humour. Let go of your imperfections and celebrate things that make you, you. Enjoy life and stop wishing you were someone else.
- Get healthy right now
If you are tired of being overweight, then do something about it. The only way to lose those kilos is to get up and get moving. Cut out the junk food and add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. A jog around the block is a great way to get your heart pumping and to relieve stress.
- Let go of the past
Hanging on to past relationships, harsh words and regrets only eats away at your soul. Concentrating on such negatives doesn’t let you open yourself up to new people, experiences and all that life has to offer. Admit your mistakes, learn from them and move forward. Forgive yourself and others.
- Be kind
When you lend a helping hand to others, you feel good. It doesn’t cost much to be polite and friendly to someone, even if you may not know them. You could buy extra groceries for your mom from your own pocket money or just spoil your bestie with a bunch of flowers, just because you can.
- Say no to negative thoughts
You are what you think. Don’t underestimate the power of positive thoughts. It’s simple, the more positive you are, and the more good you attract into your life. Erase from your mind words like “can’t”, “never” and “but”.
- Find your joy
Don’t wait for something or someone to fulfil your happiness – do things and be with people that make you happy.
- Be grateful
Despite your hardships, take time to be grateful for the little you do have.
- Don’t obsess about being in a relationship
You don’t always have to be in a relationship. Enjoy spending time on your own or with friends and family. Sooner or later you will find the one meant for you.
Go on, love yourself, you deserve it!
