Being COVID smart this festive season

Now that the lockdown has been relaxed even more, it’s still important for us to play our part in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Here’s how you can take safety precautions this festive season.

Always keep your mask on

It’s important to keep your mask on when you’re in public places. It’s also a good idea to wear your mask at large family gatherings and parties. This way, you’ll be protecting yourself and your loved ones from the virus.

Keep a safe social distance

While you’re having fun over the festive season, remember to keep a safe social distance. This means keeping a distance of about 2 metres when you’re at the shop, taking a walk or out at a function. Avoid kissing, hugging and touching strangers and remember to keep your hand sanitiser with you when you go out.

Avoid crowded areas

Avoid large crowds and areas where large groups of people have gathered, While this may be difficult to do since we’re so used to going out during the festive season, it’s important to keep in mind that this year is different.

Avoid places that don’t observe COVID-19 safety precautions

When going somewhere, make sure that the place you’re going to has all the safety precautions in place. This includes having sanitiser, social distance markings, and the limit on the number of people who can enter at a time.

Remember, COVID-19 can be life-threatening, so it’s everyone’s responsibility to take the necessary precautions to prevent spreading it and to ensure we protect those around us. Share these tips with your friends and family members so that they can also stay safe.
