2019 New Year’s Resolutions

If you’re part of the majority that don’t achieve all of their goals or give up, don’t worry, you can always try again until you get it right. It comes down to learning how to set your goals and how to stick to them. If you’re looking for fulfilling and realistic goals you can set,  here are my top 5 goals for 2019 that you can pick from and try to achieve throughout the year.

Improving your grades

No matter what grades you’ve gotten, it’s always a good idea to want to improve them (or at least maintain them, if your grades were all really high). In order toimprove your grades, make sure that you do all your class activities, homework and assignments so that you can understand the work better, and also have an opportunity to ask your teacher to help you if you don’t get a certain concept. You can also attend extra lessons at your school or community. Fitness goals

Fitness is not just about losing weight. There are many benefits to it, like a stronger immune system, being energetic, staying healthy and boosting your ability to stay focused. Read this article for some inspiration on getting into fitness if you’re a beginner.

Taking care of your  health

It’s really important to prioritise your health, Choma. Taking care of your health is good for your well-being, so go ahead and get tested for HIV and other STIs, and  visit a gynaecologist (or your nearest healthcare provider) to get a pap smear. Don’t forget to also have your monthly breast exam done.

Whether you’re in a relationship or not, remember to practise safe sex all the time and to use condoms during oral sex as well.

Your New Year’s resolutions don’t have to be unrealistic. Always strive to set goals that you know you can achieve. I also know how hard it is to stick to goals but there’s beauty in trying, and when you do achieve something, the little victories eventually contribute to the bigger picture and you’ll definitely be proud of yourself.
