Katlego Tefu (also known as The Gal With A Fro) is a 26-years-old legal intern and content creator. She was born and raised in the beautiful city of Limpopo, in Polokwane. She is a fourth-year student from UNISA – pursuing an LLB Law degree. She is currently working as a legal intern and her dream as a young girl was to become a lawyer or a dancer. Choma had a chat to Katlego to find out more about her.  

Katlego Tefu has always been social media savvy (someone with a good understanding or knowledge about social media), and because people loved her style, she decided to capture her journey in fashion and give her followers natural hair tips on her blog – Fro Fridays.

She admits that juggling two passions is not easy because there aren’t enough hours in a day, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. She believes planning her content helps her manage her two careers and that is how she stays on top of things.

Katlego doesn’t shy away from using her voice and speaking up about the societal issues that she is #DoneWithSilence about – especially gender-based violence and sexual crimes.

When I asked what she would tell her 13 years-old self, she said: “Dream big. Don’t box yourself in.  It may be hard because the environment you grow up in doesn’t encourage or support such freedoms – but I assure you, if you can dream it, you can achieve it.”

These are the words that she lives by: “Everything I need is in me. Everything.”

What this means is, everything you need to succeed, overcome, accomplish, and to be happy – is within you. You should be your biggest source of motivation, love, and support before you expect it from someone else.
