How to make extra money this festive season

For most people the holiday season is a time for celebration and festivities. But for some, it’s really a time when money is a bit tight. If that’s the case for you, don’t worry. Here’s how you can make an extra buck over the holidays and still get to enjoy your holidays.

Babysit

If you love being around toddlers and young kids then babysitting is an awesome way to make money as adults may need a break from minding their children. Simply approach people you and your parents know and ask them if they’d be interested in letting you look after their little ones.

Sell ice-lollies or ice-cream

Holiday season is also known for it’s hot summer days. How about you sell something quenching and cooling? I’m pretty sure that a sweet chilled treat will be something your neighbours could do with. You may need some money to start off with, so present your parents or guardians with this money making idea if you don’t have any pocket money saved up.

Help out at your neighbourhood businesses

Helping out at your local grocery store can be an easy way to earn a good buck. With the permission of your parents, go to your local grocery store or salon and offer to either sweep the floor, or pack shelves. Extra hands are always needed. Just make sure that this is not a full-time job, though because you still need your holiday fun and rest after all.

Offer personal services

Most people are preparing for guests over the holidays. This means they probably want to make a good impression. If you have cutting and trimming tools at home, offer to mow people’s lawns, or to help out with their household chores and errands. Just make sure that your parents or guardian  knows where you are at all times.

Use your skills

At times, your hands are your biggest money maker. If you are good with doing hair or make-up,  you can offer those services to your friends and family members. This is a great way to make money as a lot of people want to look good over the festive season.

These are just a few guidelines to help you make extra money over the festive season. If none of these options really spark your interest then that’s okay, get creative! There’s a lot of other ways that you can make extra money. Just remember to make some time to enjoy your holidays as well!
